For individuals who feel that seminars and workshops do not provide them with sufficient knowledge to start and operate a business, we have developed three entrepreneurship classes. The classes use as a base the Program For Acquiring Competence in Entrepreneurship (PACE), a competency based program. It is a three-level curriculum with twenty one topics addressed in each level. The three level concept is based on the belief that student achievement is greater when learning is sequenced from basic fundamental concepts to more advanced complex skills in an organized fashion that meet the present and future needs of the students.

Each of the three courses meet for six weeks, one day per week for two hours. The three courses are:

Level I: Introduction to Entreperneurship
This course is an introduction to and overview of the concepts, principles and processes of entrepreneurship. It will define entreperneurship, identify and describe the characteristics and traits common to a successful entrepreneur and help students develop an awareness of entrepreneurship as a career option.

Level II: Planning The Venture
This course will dicuss idea generation and teach student how to start a business. The discussion will include the different business entities and the pros and cons of each, the business and market plan, the importance of both and how to prepare them, financing and recordkeeping, location , human resources and other factors involved in starting a busines.

Level III: Operating and Managing The Business
The focus of this course is policies and strategies for managing and growing a business. It will concentrate on skill building, detail planning and implementation of plans. It will include but not be limited to such topics as Risk Management, Credit Management, Financial Analysis and Controls, Customer Service, Total Quality Management (TQM).

Each of the courses offered meet for six weeks, one day per week for two hours.
